Just the other day, I even made barley rice – something I usually hesitate to try because I worry it won't cook properly. I mixed rice and barley in a 1:1 ratio to avoid it being too rough. The manual even said there's no need to soak the barley, so I just started cooking it. There's a specific barley mixed grain function, which I used. Plus, this rice cooker lets you set the soaking and steaming in three different stages. The longer you soak it, the chewier the texture gets, and if you steam it longer, you get that lovely, toasty scorched rice flavor."
